After the death of founder Georges Hoffherr, his son and son-in-law take over the business, and production reaches 10,000 hl

Mathieu Umdenstock, Georges Hoffherr’s son-in-law, builds an empire by opening Brasserie du Parc, Brasserie Dupuis, Brasserie Thomassin and Café Bellecour

Bières Geroges production reaches 15,000 hl

Caricaturist Henri Le Monnier designs the famous logo of Saint Georges slaying the dragon, the now iconic symbol of Bières Georges

Brasserie Georges celebrates its 100th birthday

An agreement between the last four Lyon breweries ceases beer production at Brasserie Georges
1939-2002

The restaurant side of Brasserie Georges is acquired by the Rinck family

Christian Lameloise and Jacky Gallmann take over the reins of Brasserie Georges

2004

Beer production returns to its original home. 625 hl of Pils, Pale Ale and Brown Ale are brewed in the first year

Pale Ale

Characterised by its cereal aromas, medium body and golden colour, its authentic Alsatian hops give this beer a fine bitterness and citrus notes.

La Dorée

Brewed using two malts and lightly hoppy, the Golden Ale is flavoured with honey resulting in gingerbread aromas and notes of liquorice.

Brown Ale

The Georges Brown Ale is steeped in 180 years of history. The malty aromas and cocoa warmth give this beer its strong character. Long hops boiling confers a strong and delicious bitterness.
